Cuomo To Be Sued Again; Lawsuit Coming From WNY Landlords

It’s one lawsuit after another for Governor Andrew Cuomo. This time, he will face a class action lawsuit from multiple landlords.

Cuomo has prohibited evictions since March due to COVID-19. As a result, many property owners being stuck with their mortgages and expenses, but no rental incomes.

The ban was put into place as a way to prevent those effected from COVID-19 from losing their house. Many other tenants however, have taken advantage of the ban, and out right refused to pay, despite not being affected.

Landlords caringly prefer to not evict those who have been affected by COVID, but admit they need government help so they aren’t front the bill for them to live on their property for free.

The suit will primarily target evictions on those who are on the same unaffected income and refuse to pay, as well as tenants who have refused to leave once a lease expires.
