VIDEO: Buffalo liquor store burglarized during blizzard; Police services still unavailable for many

The City of Buffalo is locked down as mounds of snow have made roads impassible. Now one business, is already dealing with more than the snow.

CAUGHT ON VIDEO – the video below shows a burglary take place at the locally owned Nickel City Liquor on Niagara Street in Buffalo.

Two men approached the store, smashed the window with a hammer and climbed in through the window, which was blocked half way high with snow.

One man stood outside, while the other loaded up 13 bottles of liquor, totally an estimated value of $485.

The thieves then took off before the owner was able to arrive, and police are currently not able to respond to calls. There’s over 2500 calls into the Buffalo 911 system that have not been able to be answered due to the impassable roads and shortage of emergency personnel. Many of the calls are for stuck or abandoned vehicles in the midst of a travel ban.

The owner since has security on premises to prevent any further break-ins during the storm.

Earlier in the day, there were reports of several males attempting to rob 7-Eleven as well.
